Requesting a ballot for extended mail-in primary election

Posted Mar. 31, 2020 by

Just a reminder, the March 17 primary election mail-in ballot voting was extended to April 28. But it's important to know, the Ohio Secretary of State (SOS) or local board of elections won't just send you a ballot. If you haven't voted yet and want to vote by April 28, you HAVE TO REQUEST a ballot. We recommend you do as soon as possible!

Download the application for your ballot at VoteOhio.gov or on your county board of elections' website. OR you can call and have them mail a request for you. Get county election information HERE.

Once you have received and completed your ballot, mail it in (preferable) or drop it off at your county board of elections. Ballots must be postmarked by April 27 and received by the board of elections by May 8. Call the Ohio SOS at 877-767-6446 with any questions.
