Drop off Giving Tree donations this weekend

Posted Dec. 5, 2017 by

The OCSEA Bargaining Team is asking for all OCSEA members to support their Giving Tree drive to help homeless Ohio families. To coincide with bargaining beginning Dec. 11, the team will be collecting hats, gloves, socks and toiletries throughout the season to aid those in need at our local shelters.

A Giving Tree is located in OCSEA's Union Hall. The Hall will be open this weekend during the state Board of Director's meeting for members to bring donations to hang on the tree. Please include sizes for ALL ages. Boxes for toiletries will also be available beneath the tree. The most-needed items include: shampoo, toothbrushes and toothpaste, brushes and combs, deodorant and lip balm.

"OCSEA members are the most generous people I know. They do so much on and off the job. I hope, as we come together as a team to fight for a fair and strong contract, that we will also come together to support those in our communities who need it the most," said OCSEA President and lead contract negotiator, Chris Mabe.
