ODJFS notifies union of intent to review customer Service Classifications

Posted Dec. 20, 2016 by

With the recent merger of the Office of Local Operations and the Office of Unemployment Compensation to form the Office of Unemployment Insurance Operations, the Ohio Department of Job and Family Services has informed the union that a reclassification of jobs is imminent.

ODJFS has notified OCSEA of its intent to do a classification review beginning the first of the year. The agency indicated that there are currently 44 classifications within the newly merged office and that there is a need to come together with the union to "simplify this and decide on a unified classification structure."

The agency has made it clear that the union will be involved in the multi-step process beginning in January. Got questions? Find your union leadership in your MyOCSEA account under "My Union Contacts."
