Nov. 29 Update:

On December 11 and 12 the state and union bargaining teams are expected to exchange the majority of non-financial contract proposals as main table negotiations gets underway.

Also, on Monday, Dec. 11, before negotiations takes place, bargaining team members and OCSEA activists will hit the streets of downtown Columbus in the early morning to thank state employees for the hard work they do. Besides passing out donuts, they will spread leaflets to the general public about the vital services state employees do every day and the importance of a fair contract for these dedicated public servants.

Team members are asking ALL OCSEA's members to wear GREEN every Tuesday over the next months to show support for the OCSEA negotiating team. The union team is made up of 21 rank-and-file OCSEA activists who were duly elected in July to represent OCSEA bargaining unit members in negotiations.

The sides have also agreed to a set of grounds rules as well as the Mutually Agreed Dispute Resolution Process, or MAD, that lays out how any disputes will be reconciled.

Team members will be making final touches to their proposals in the coming weeks, including members’ key priorities: a general wage increase and the preservation of health care.

If you have not yet done so, be sure to sign up to receive texting texting updates about bargaining by texting "OCSEA" to 237263. You will then receive a text whenever a new bargaining update is available. Because communications about bargaining is restricted to active members only according to the ground rules, members must create an account and use their MyOCSEA user name and password to read bargaining updates.
