ODOT launches distracted driving corridor

Posted Apr. 4, 2018 by

This week, ODOT launched its first ever Distracted Driving Safety Corridor. The corridor is located along I-76 and I-80 in Trumbull and Mahoning Counties and will help drivers with signage alerting them of the dangers of distracted driving. Enforcement will also be beefed up along this stretch of highway between Newton Fall Rd. and West. Liberty Street and troopers will hand out pamphlets called “If You Think You’re a Multitasker, You’re Wrong” during traffic stops. The launch of the corridor comes just a few weeks after ODOT Highway Worker John Pasko was killed by a motorist on I-680 in Youngstown.
