OCSEA leaders promote Get Out the Vote & Vote Your Job
|
Our union values are on the ballot! That's why OCSEA leaders gathered this past weekend for a Labor Votes outreach event, calling OCSEA members about the importance of getting out to vote and supporting labor-friendly candidates on November 3.
“When we talk about ‘vote your job,’ it’s not just a bumper sticker, it’s not a tagline,” said OCSEA President Chris Mabe at the OCSEA Presidents Conference in July. The results of the November 3 election will be monumental for all Ohioans, and particularly for state employees as we elect the person who will lead the state in contract negotiations. “It’s time we get the best seat at the table to move us forward,” said Mabe.
Get more information on the upcoming election, including union endorsements, at OCSEAVotes.org. Also, keep scrolling this email for labor-to-labor Get Out the Vote (GOTV) activities near you through the Ohio AFL-CIO.
Early voting in Ohio began on October 6. Visit the Ohio Secretary of State's voting website to find your Early Voting Location.

The Combined Charitable Campaign Committee Team helps make the annual charitable giving campaign and kick off a success.

There's still time to give to CCC through October 23
|
Don't forget! The Combined Charitable Campaign (CCC) runs through Oct. 23. That means there's still time to sign up for a reaccuring payroll donation or a one-time gift to one of more than 900 local, regional, and international charitable organizations. All OCSEA members are encouraged to participate as a way to give back to their communities and to important charities that make Ohio strong.
The CCC offers an online giving system, ePledge, which is a secure and efficient method of viewing and making contributions to the campaign. Access the ePledge site through myOhio.gov (State News and Events page–myCCC "Click to Donate" tile).
The CCC has been a joint union and state campaign for over 35 years. This includes many bargaining unit union members who assist with the overall campaign planning, campaign kickoff and as CCC Coordinators statewide and within their agencies. Thanks to these amazing volunteers who make this campaign a success every year!
