Working People's Day of Action: Why we rally?

Posted Feb. 7, 2018 by

On Saturday, February 24, thousands of workers like you will unite and rally in Columbus and nine other cities across the U.S. to demand an end to an economy that's rigged in favor of the wealthy and most powerful. Politicians on every level want to put the power of deciding your wages, benefits and safety in managements' hands. They are coming after your right to bargain a fair union contract and your freedom to have a voice on the job. It's time to take a stand!

Join us for the Working People's Day of Action!

Why we rally?

Just like with the dangerous Senate Bill 5, politicians at the Statehouse are trying to take away public employee collective bargaining rights again and make Ohio a Right to Work state. But, instead of legislation this time, they want to change the Ohio Constitution with SIX proposed anti-worker ballots initiatives. And, nationally, a U.S. Supreme Court case, Janus vs. AFSCME Council 31, would make the entire country Right to Work for ALL public employees.

For these reasons and more, we need a strong showing of workers--public and private--against these attacks on February 24! Their war on workers is no more than an attempt to divide and silence workers and limit our collective power! RSVP for the Day of Action!
